Description
Upper Pines campground remains open year-round. However, from December 1, 2008 through March 14, 2009 it is available on a first-come, first-serve basis only (no reservations are taken). Upper Pines Campground is located in Yosemite National Park in Central California at 4000 feet in elevation in Yosemite Valley. Yosemite Valley contains many of the features the Yosemite National Park is famous for. Upper Pines is the largest of the three reservation campgrounds in Yosemite Valley. All three reservation campgrounds (Upper, Lower, and North Pines) are located next to one another so the distance between campgrounds and other facilities is not a factor in determining which campground to choose. There are no electric, water, or sewer hook-ups available at individual campsites, although a dump station is located on site. The valley campgrounds can accommodate tents or RV's. Pets are permitted in family sites (they must be on a 6' leash and may not be left unattended). For more park information call (209)372-0200, or visit www.nps.gov/yose.
Directions
Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Follow signs to Yosemite Valley and the campgrounds.
