Description
North Shore Park is the largest day use park on Wright Patman Lake. The pavilion is located next to a waterborne restroom with showers and close to the swimming beach. North Shore Park has numerous recreation opportunities which include a beach, 2 horseshoe courts, 3 sand volleyball courts, playground, basketball court, fishing jetty, and boat ramp. There are no camping sites available in the park but Clear Springs Campground is located a mile from the park. Each vehicle entering the park will be charged an entrance fee of $4.00 plus the cost of the pavilion reservation.
Directions
From Texarkana take U.S. Highway 59 south for approximately 10 miles, turn right on FM 2148 travel approximately 1.5 miles to the Wright Patman Lake sign, turn left and follow park signs and park road to North Shore Park entrance.
Description
Malden Lake Campground is located off HWY 8, just south of Maud Texas and US HWY 67. The park is located on a 30,000 surface acre man made lake, within the piney woods of northeast Texas. Open year round, Malden Lake offers a range of outdoor activities from fishing, hunting, and wildlife viewing. During the winter many birds migrate to the lake some of these include Bald Eagles, Pelicans, various ducks and others. There are some poisonous snakes in the area.
Directions
From Interstate 30 exit on HWY 8 at New Boston, Texas, take HWY 8 south through Maud, Texas, approximately 6 miles south of Maud, park road will be on the left. Park is located on the north side of Wright Patman Lake.
