from the Bushes and Shrubs family.
Rhododendron - Ramapo, Rhododendron 'Ramapo', is a dense-growing evergreen shrub that has a very dwarf compact habit. Clusters of flowers are about 1"" long, light violet-purple, no markings. Large trusses of the showy flowers are a beautiful contrast to the leaves. The bluish green foliage makes it an asset to the landscape all year around. Ramapo is very effective when a smaller accent is needed. If you have a small garden with little room for a large rhododendron - this dwarf rhodo may be for you! Rhododendrons are ornamental, acidic-soil loving broad-leaf evergreens. They grow best in partial shade. Plant in a location protected from strong winter winds. Ramapo loves to be planted with pre-moistened peat moss. Well drained soil is a must! Use in mass, group or specimen for shrub borders, mixed borders, woodland gardens and shade gardens. This dwarf is exceptional as a container-grown plant and bonsai. Ramapo also prefers cooler regions.
