The Red Onion, Allium 'Comred', a spring planted bulb, produces either green onions or dry red onions. The onion will produce green onions in early spring, or if left to fully mature you will have dry red onions in early August or there about. Onion bulbs are the most sure route to success in the home garden. Place them in loose, fertile soil for best results.
