Description
The septic system for the cabin has failed so there is no potable water, shower, flush toilet facilities, or other running water within the cabin. There is an outdoor "port-a-potty" for people to use, and it is serviced weekly. Renters will need to bring water for personal and household use. Access may require chains in the winter during periods of heavy snow, last 1/8 mile of road is not plowed. Louella Cabin was built in 1912 as a fire guard station. The cabin includes a kitchen, living room, and 2 bedrooms. Electricity, propane heater, cook stove, electric refrigerator and lights are provided. Bring flashlights and extra batteries in case power to the cabin is interrupted. Small cozy cabin, sleeps six with a double bed, twin bunk bed and a futon couch in the living room which opens to a full sized bed. Cabin is equipped with chairs, dining table, dishes, pots, pans, silverware and utensils. Bed, bath and kitchen linens are not provided. Area attractions include nearby access to Buckhorn Wilderness, hiking, sightseeing, mountain biking, Olympic National Park, Sequim, Port Angeles and Port Townsend.

Louella Cabin is located on Washington State's Olympic Peninsula. Four miles east of Sequim, across from Sequim Bay State Park, by fire station, turn southwest on Louella Road, go one mile, turn left onto the Palo Alto Road and travel approximately 4 miles. The access drive to Louella Cabin is by the bulletin board on the right.Turn into the driveway, go past the first building, Louella Cabin is on the right.
Description
Located in the Duckabush Recreation Area. Interrorem Cabin has nearby access to the Duckabush River, The Brothers Wilderness, Olympic National Park and Hood Canal. Interrorem Cabin is a 24 by 20 foot log cabin with a kitchen, living room and bedroom. Sleeps four with a twin bunk bed and futon couch which opens to a full size bed.
No electricity. Propane heater, refrigerator, cook range and lights. Propane is furnished. Outdoor vault toilet.
Interrorem Cabin was built in 1907 as the first administrative sit of Olympic National Forest by Emery J. Finch, Ranger and Hoodsport Pioneer. A stay in the cabin takes you back to an era without electricity with the time to enjoy the quiet beauty of the area. The interpretive nature trail near the cabin and the historic pictures in the cabin add to the experience of everyday life when Ranger Finch brought his bride Mabel to live in the cabin in 1908.
Excellent short family day hikes, fishing, bird watching, wildlife viewing and rain forest atmosphere.
Maximum 4 people, provisions can be made for extra people on a case by case basis, with approval by the District Ranger. An extra charge of $5.00 per person/per night will be charged with payment and approval through the Quilcene Office.
No Large groups.
Open year round. Road plowed to the cabin in the winter.

Potable water is available at the hand-pump well near the trailhead parking.

Interrorem Cabin is located on the eastside of the Olympic Peninsula ( near Hood Canal ) in Washington State. Travel 22 miles north of Hoodsport on U.S. Hwy 101 to Duckabush Recreation Area (FS Road # 2510) Follow the Duckabush Road for 4 miles to the end of the pavement. Interrorem Cabin is on the left.
