Open Year Around: RESERVATION SEASON FROM MARCH 1st TO SEPTEMBER 15. CAMPING OUTSIDE OF THIS PERIOD WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE ONLY. Tar Camp Campground is located on the Arkansas River by Pool 5 Lock and Dam. The area provides something for everyone whether it's camping, fishing, boating, or just relaxing in the sun. The Tar Camp Campground offers 58 sites, 38 with electric and water hookups. Additional ameniti include hot showers, a dump station, a boat launch, a playground, and public telephones. Rising Star Campground is located on the Arkansas River by Pool 3 Lock and Dam. The area provides something for everyone whether it's camping, fishing, boating, or just relaxing in the sun. The Rising Star Campground offers 25 sites, 20 with electric and water hook ups. Additional amenities include hot showers, a dump station, public telephones, and a playground. Rising Star Park is located 12 miles from Pine Bluff. Pine Bluff is the home for the Arkansas Railroad Museum, Pine Bluff Regional Park, the Martha Mitchell Home, and other points of interest. Cotton is grown in the area. Rising Star Park is located in Pool 3 of the Arkansas River. There are generally mild winters and the summers have temperatures in the upper 90s with high humidity. Red fox are frequently seen in the park. Poisonous snakes are found in the area. The park is 193 ft above sea level. Shopping and groceries are available in Pine Bluff. From Pine Bluff, AR, take US 65 S 7.8 mi to Linwood, go N 3.5 mi on Blankinship Road and follow sign into Rising Star Campground. From Pine Bluff take US 65 south for 7.8 miles to Linwood. From Linwood go north for 3.5 miles on Blankinship Road to Rising Star Park.
