Description
Windust Park is located on Lake Sacajawea, which was formed when the Ice Harbor Lock and Dam was built on the Lower Snake River. This 31-mile long reservoir in Eastern Washington's scab-land and black-rock canyons has great appeal to boaters, upland game hunters, and anglers alike. Lower Monumental Lock and Dam is three miles upstream. Go there to watch barge traffic pass through the 100-foot tall navigation locks. You can camp along the historic route of Lewis and Clark in Windust Park, which offers 24 primitive sites. The park has a swimming area, boat ramp, playgrounds, and a dump station.
Directions
From the Tri-Cities: Turn off Highway 12 on to the Pasco-Kahlotus (PK) Highway, and take the PK Highway for 30 miles to Burr Canyon Road and go 6 miles to the campground. From Kahlotus, go 4 miles southwest on the Pasco-Kahlotus Road, then exit 5.2 miles southeast on Burr Canyon Road.
