Description
Rock Creek Pavilion is available to reserve for groups over 25 people. It is generally open from mid-May to late-September. Rock Creek Pavilion is located within Rock Creek campground, in a secluded area along the banks of Rock Creek, a tributary of the North Umpqua River. It's the perfect place for a small family gathering or company function of up to 50 people. The pavilion has 6 large picnic tables, long serving counter, sink, electrical outlets and a large barbecue grill. Reserving the pavilion allows your group exclusive use of the adjacent Rock Creek day-use area, horseshoe pits and grass volleyball court.
Overnight camping is available at the adjacent Rock Creek campground. There are 17 sites available on a first come-first served basis. Other camping is available at Millpond Campground, 1 and a 1/2 mile away, 12 sites also on a first come-first served basis. Camping for groups is available at Lone Pine Group Campground 1 and a 1/2 miles away.
Recreational opportunities nearby include: salmon and steelhead fishing and whitewater rafting/kayaking on the Wild and Scenic North Umpqua River; mountain biking and hiking on the 80-mile long North Umpqua Trail; waterfall hiking trails; and self guided tours of the Rock Creek Fish Hatchery.

From Roseburg, travel east on Highway 138 for 22 miles. Turn left (north) on Rock Creek Road and proceed 6.5 miles. Enter Rock Creek Campground and make an immediate right. Elevation: 1200'.
Description
LePage Park is located at the confluence of the John Day and Columbia Rivers. It is 5 miles from Rufus, OR, and the John Day Dam, and is in a river basin with a highland desert climate. Nearby Rufus has a gas station, convenience stores, restaurants, a post office, and a bait shop. Popular activities include river fishing, swimming, water-skiing, and boating. An abundance of wildlife can be seen, including mule deer, waterfowl, and raptors. Rattlesnakes are present, but not prevalent.
Directions
30 miles east from the Dalles, OR, I-84 exit 114. Westbound travelers must go under the interstate to enter the park. Follow signs for the John Day River Recreation Area.
