Description
Recreation at East Canyon Dam and reservoir, a feature of the Weber Basin Project, is managed by the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation under agreement with the Bureau of Reclamation. The park headquarters phone number is (801) 829-6866. A 680-acre surface area situated in an open setting 12 miles south of Morgan, Utah at the 5,700-foot elevation on East Canyon Creek. Managed recreation season all year with high use occurring in the summer. Limited use during winter when ice fishing is popular. Available fish species include rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout. Reservations accepted for some campsites. Fees charged. The East Canyon U.S. Geological Service map covers the area.
Directions
From Ogden, take I-84 east to exit 103, turn right to State Road 66, 12 miles south of Morgan. From Salt Lake City, take I-80 east to exit 134 (Highway 65) to reservoir. Highway 65 is closed in winter.
