Fall Bulbs - Crocus
The Crocus 'Assorted Colors', 'Crocus giant', is a fall planted bulb. The Crocus heralds of spring, and cheers up the garden after a dull and long winter. They bloom profusely in whites, yellows, blues and purples. Some are solids, others are two-toned. The cupped flowers are borne on short stems above grasslike leaves. The leaves are needed for photosynthesis to build up the new bulbs for the next season. For a massive effect, plant in great sweeps of 100 to 150 bulbs. Use them in rock gardens, ground covers, containers, mass plantings and borders.
