In the heart of Southern Illinois, the Dale Miller Youth Area on Rend Lake offers excellent opportunities to enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, camping, biking, hiking and wildlife viewing. The 19,000 acres of water and the 20,000 acres of public lands at Rend Lake provide the perfect setting for your outdoor activities. Dale Miller Youth Area offers a large enclosed picnic shelter with electrical outlets, picnic tables, stone fireplace, and a large grill. There are 5 cabins with bunk beds. Each cabin sleeps 8 and has electricity and a picnic table. There are also 10 recreational vehicle campsites and several tent campsites, a private beach, a playground with swings, baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, and a fun and fitness trail. Additional amenities include a dump station, hot showers, and a boat ramp. Golf, trap shooting, and sporting clays are available within minutes of the campground. Boat rentals are available at the Rend Lake Marina and Rend Lake Resort. Other activities include the Rend lake Visitor Center, Ranger-led programs, educational programs, environmental education, Rend Lake Wildlife Refuge, picnic areas, and water sports. Hunting is a large attraction to Rend Lake with its many acres of huntable property adjacent to the parks.
