LAKE FORK CAMPGROUND (CO)
Description
Curecanti National Recreation Area is situated between Montrose and Gunnison, Colorado. Lake Fork Campground is located just off Highway 50 near Blue Mesa Dam, approximately 37 miles east of Montrose and 28 miles west of Gunnison. Altitude is 7800'. This a semi-arid shrub land with vast expanses of sagebrush. Evening programs are provided during the summer season. Cell phone coverage is limited, if at all. All boats require a Curecanti NRA boat permit.
More Information: Ride through the upper Black Canyon on a 42 passenger pontoon boat. The Morrow Point Boat Tour is a guided 1 1/2 hour trip that runs daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Reservations are required and walk-ons are not permitted. Please call 970-641-2337 ext. 205 to make reservations and for more information.
