Description
Indian Creek Guard Station which is located adjacent to Ferron Reservoir is available for reservations from July 1st through October 15 and from December 15th through March 31st. The cabin has a woodstove for heating and a gas stove for cooking. There is a table and chairs and bunks with mattresses for 4. There is a refridgerator, water heater and lighting that runs on gas. There is running water , a sink, flush toilet and shower available during the warmer months (July through about mid September). An outhouse is approximately 50 feet away for the cold season. The cabin is located at an elevation of approximately 9500 which means you should be prepared for all types of weather including snow or hail especially after September.Fire wood will be supplied during the winter months only (December thru March). Forest Service Volunteers are stationed at the guard station during the summer months. They stay in a trailer on the Guard Station compound near the cabin.
Directions
From Ferron, Utah head west out of town on West Canyon Road. It is approximately 27 miles to the cabin which is near Ferron Reservoir. Heading out of town you will pass the golf course and Millsite Park and the pavement will end near the Forest boundary. Stay on this road till you get to Ferron Reservoir. Go to the left around the reservoir and on the opposite side you will see a sign for the guard station. From Mayfield, Utah head East up 12 Mile Canyon. About 17 miles up 12 Mile Canyon Road on Forest Road #022 near the top of the Plateau you'll see !2 Mile Flat Campground on the right. Across from the campground make a left so you continue on FSR #022 up over the Plateau. Staying on FSR #022 you'll start dropping down the other side and about 3 miles down you'll see the Guard Station on the left.

Directions
From Fairview head East on Hwy 31. At approx. 16 miles you'll see Huntington Resevoir on your right. About 1/2 mile past Huntington Resevoir on the south side of the road will be Miller Flat Rd on your right. It will be the first campsite on the right. You can see this site from Miller Flat Rd. Look for the serving tables & Dutch Oven Fire Pan.
