MANTI COMMUNITY (UT)
Description
Campground is situated in a transition area between pinyon, juniper, spruce and fir trees. Parking is provided. Some areas shaded. Season: June - October 7400 foot elevation. 9 campsites tucked in the woods among a network of creeks. A group area can accomodate up to 30 campers. Canoes and rowboats allowed in Yearns Reservoir, next to the campground. A short trail leads around the base of Burnt Hill, on the flats, and loops back on a jeep road. A trail across the road leads to the Great Basin Experiment Station, where they research new methods of land management that do not degrade the environment. The Great Basin Experimental Station is open to educators and researchers by appointment with the site manager at Snow College. Managed in partnership between the Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station and Snow College.
