Purple Coneflower Echinacea will perform in full sun or light shade. In very hot summer climates, provide some afternoon shade. Well drained soil is a must for Echinacea Coneflowers as they cannot withstand standing water. Plant in early spring, 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost or as late as 2 months before the first fall frost. They make excellent cut flowers and borders>/p>
