Description
*Campground closed from June 1 to Oct 31* Open from Jan 1-May 31 & Nov 1-Dec 31. Flag Point Lookout sits at the 5650 foot elevation on Flag Point Butte. The 14' X 14' cabin sits atop a 60 foot tower. Winter access is moderate to difficult,depending on snow conditions. FS road 44 and 4430 are closed from December 15th through March 15th, from the junction of FS road 44/4430 to highway 35. During this time, park at Billy bob Sno-park. A Northwest Forest Pass is required for this sno-park. This closure allows no motorizd traffic over 48" wide without a permit (CFR-MH 197-02-91). This is a shared winter recreation area. You should expect Snowmobilers and other winter sports enthusiasts in the area.

Location: SW ?? SE ??, Sec. 7, T.3S., R.11E., W.M., Wasco County, Oregon. Head west out of Dufur Valley Road about 18 miles to the Junction of FS roads 44 and 4430 at Billy Bob Sno-Park ( the road may be plowed to the sno-park. Following road 44 to the junction of the 4420 road, turn left and follow to 2730, ffollow 2730 to spur road 200 to the end.. This is about an eleven (11) miles route one way. The route is marked with orange and blue diamond shaped lazers. There is a second route into Flag Point. This route takes you through Friend and puts you on FS road 2730 that will lead you to the 2730-200 spur. If you are at the Forest Boundary on the 2730 it would be about 10 miles or less to the lookout. This route is not plowed, or signed and is not patrolled.

The 14' X 14' cabin sits atop a 40 foot Tower. You'll park at the sno-park and ski/snowshoe/snowmobile into the facility. The road will be groomed to the lookout. It is approximately 3.2 miles to the lookout from the snowpark. You will need to purchase a sno-park permit to park at Skyline Sno-park. These can be purchased at several locations in the Portland area or at CJ's on Hwy 26, west of the intersection of Hwy 26 and FS road 42.

Location: NW ? NW ?, Sec. 7, T.5S, R9E., W.M., Clackamas County, Oregon. Check your map to locate the normal access beginning at the junction of Hwy 26 and FS road 42, Skyline Sno-park. Proceed on road 42 to the 240 spur road and on to the lookout. The evelation climb is about 900'.
