from the Organic Plants family.
The Cyclamen, 'Cyclamen hederifolium' is a beautiful plant producing pink to violet colored flowers. This genus consists of about 15 species, all are native to the Mediteranean area. Cyclamen are easy to grow. They are noted for growing in unlikely places such as among tree roots and rocks and produce prolific flowers in autumn! After flowering, the leaves will stay green till the next spring before going dormant in the summer. These hardy plants form colonies in shade under trees and shrubs, in woodlands or gardens. Heart-shaped foliage, mottled with dark and silvery green. Plant corms with the flat side facing down. Both roots and leaves come from the top of corms. Be careful not to damage the small, twiggy protuberances, because they produce the flowers. Their soil must contain sufficient humus and be rich in calcium.
