Naturehills.com carries thousands of products including the Crocus - Species - Firefly
from the Fall Flower Bulbs family.
The Snow Crocus 'Firefly', Crocus chrysanthus 'Firefly', has violet petals with grayish veins, yellow throat. Snow crocus, also known as specie crocus, bloom before the giant crocus and are a welcome addition to the spring garden. The color combination, hardiness, and early flowering make them a must. You will enjoy their bright colors and bunch- flowering habit. They multiply rapidly and bloom quite early to extend the crocus blooming season. Crocuses have more, but smaller, flowers than the Giant Crocus.
Firefly performs best in a sandy, well-drained soil. Crocus bulbs remaining in the ground will always bloom a bit earlier than the ones planted the previous year. The effect of crocuses is especially beautiful when they are planted in large numbers, so plant in great sweeps of 100 to 150 bulbs. Use them in rock gardens, ground covers, containers, mass plantings and borders. The calyx-shaped flowers open only when the sun shines or when there is a lot of light; they close up in rainy weather and at night.
