Description
This rustic group site is located in a ponderosa pine forest at an elevation of 8,200 feet approximately one-half mile off Highway 67 north of Woodland Park. Hiking is the main attraction. The Red Rocks Trail #612 leads to nearby unusual and scenic red sandstone formation. These are enjoyable to view but users are cautioned they are not safe for climbing. There is access to the 4.2 mile long asphault paved Centennial Bike Trail which connects all of the campgrounds and Manitou Lake Recreation Area, The area has parking available for 44 passenger cars. Tables, fire rings, campfire circle, double vault toilet, dumpster and drinking water are available on site. The camp host is located approximately 2.5 miles north at Colorado Campground. Although the area was developed for group camping, it may be reserved for day use at the overnight use rate.

Elevation 8000 feet. Vegetation - Ponderosa pines. Maximum 2 vehicles per site, minimum 3 day stay on holiday weekends. Firewood is available from the camp host.

From Colorado Springs, Colorado, travel west on Highway 24 for approx. 25 miles, turn onto highway 67 and travel 5 miles from Woodland Park to campground turnoff on left side of highway. Take gravel road approx. 1/2 mile to campground entrance on left side of road.
