Description
Located west of Denver and five miles north of the town of Blackhawk. Facilities provided include restrooms and a playground area. Popular events include Lou Bunch Days, Central City Opera, and the Jazz Festival. Activities include Golden Gate Canyon State Park, vistas and scenery, fishing at Golden Gate and Netherlands, and gambling at Central City and Blackhawk. Firewood is for sale at the campground. Some first come, first serve sites may be available. Sites may be available on a first come first served basis outisde the reservation season.
Directions
From Denver, off I-25 take 6th Avenue west to State Highway 6, through Clear Creek Canyon. Proceed north on State Highway 119. Campground is located 5 miles north of Blackhawk. You can also access State Highway 119 from I-70 at Exit 244.
Description
Located approximately eight miles from the town of Woodland Park, Colorado. Campground is in a shady ponderosa pine area. Firewood is for sale at the campground. All food, coolers and toiletries must be stored inside an enclosed vehicle at all times to prevent bear conflicts.
Directions
From Colorado Springs, Colorado, travel west on Hwy 24 for about 24 miles to Woodland Park. Turn north on Baldwin (which turns into Rampart Range Road). Go about 2 miles to Loy Creek Road "turn right" and then to FDR 300 "turn right" (Rampart Range Road). Follow signs. Rampart Reservoir entrance is about 4 miles further on the left side of the road.
