The Waterlily Colchicum, C. 'Double Waterlily', has double lavender-pink fall flowers. Fall blooming colchicum are wonderful additions to autumn gardens. Their blooms form lovely chalice-shaped cups. Leaves turn to a golden yellow as they mature, blending with fall foliage. Will bloom within weeks of planting this fall! Colchicum 'Waterlily' is a cross between Colchicum autumnale 'Album' and Colchicum speciosum 'Album'. The flower of this variety consists of around 20 petals, making it the most doubled flowered Colchicum.
In spring, the plants deliver up seven to ten-inch long, narrowly ovate leaves that remain in the garden, feeding the bulb, until July. Later, in early fall, the ample double, lavender-pink flower at the end of a leafless stalk opens, creating a striking floral scene that lasts for weeks in the autumn garden.
