Park is closed 04/01/08 to 05/01/08 and is closed 11/17/08 to 12/15/08. Park is closed 04/06/09 to 05/04/09 and is closed 11/20/09 to 12/14/09. Park is closed 04/05/10 to 05/03/10 and is closed 11/22/10 to 12/13/10. A rustic 12x18 log cabin situated at 3200 feet elevation in the Teanaway River Drainage. The cabin sits along Forest Service Road 9737 with the icy North Fork Teanaway River just across the road. Inside you will find a wood stove for heat, a Coleman propane cook stove and lantern which use Coleman 16.4 ounce propane cylinders. Wood, propane and mantles are NOT provided. A table and chairs, pots, pans, coffee pot, tea kettle, plates cups and silver are provided. The cabin has one set of bunk beds with mattresses. Outside you will find a picnic table and fire pit. Please check for campfire restrictions prior to your arrival. Items which are NOT provided that you will need to bring include but are not limited to: Ice chest and ice, food, beverages, potable water, matches or lighter, flashlight and spare batteries, sleeping bags, and foam pad all weather clothing, toiletries, paper towels and toilet paper, garbage bags, towels and washcloths, dish soap, hand soap, insect repellant and first aid kit. Drinking water is not available. Water can be taken from the Teanaway River, but must be treated before drinking. A vault toilet is located outside (key is located in the cabin) and is intended for cabin guests only. Recreation opportunities in the area include hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, bird watching, wildlife viewing, photography and wildflowers that in the spring follow the snowmelt and can be found in August in the high country. With winter comes the opportunity for cross- country skiing, back country snowboarding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Early May - mid November the cabin can be driven to by most passenger vehicles. Vehicles with extremely low clearance are not advised. Mid December - early April parking is 2.2 miles from the cabin. It is an easy ski or snowshoe trip over a groomed snowmobile route, from the plowed parking area, which does not require a Sno-Park permit. 12-24 inches of snow in a 24 hour period is not uncommon in this area. It is possible that upon return to your vehicle, you will find it "plowed in". Please be prepared to dig it out by having a sturdy shovel. Make sure your vehicle is prepared for winter driving conditions. Carry tire chains, extra food, water and clothing. The nearest services are 23 miles away in Cle Elum and there is no cell phone service in the Teanaway area.

Teanaway Guard Station (WA) Forest Service Road 9737 From I-90 take exit 85. Follow Highway 970 North approximately 6.5 miles to Teanaway Road. Turn left, drive 13 miles to end of pavement. Veer right onto Forest Service Road 9737. Continue 2.2 miles, turn right to the Guard Station. From US Highway 2 (Leavenworth or Wenatchee area), follow highway 97 South from its junction with Highway 2 for 38.5 miles to Teanaway Road. Turn right, drive 13 miles to end of pavement. Veer right onto Forest Service Road 9737. Continue 2.2 miles, turn right to the Guard Station. Parking is permitted only on the gravel parking pad. Winter access, Nov - Apr, is by ski, snowshoe, or snowmobile. Guests will park at Teanaway Sno-Park and travel the remaining 2.2 mi. over the snow. This route is closed to wheeled vehicles in winter. Description
Located on the shores of Lake Kachess. Boat ramp and swimming beach provided. Campground is situated in old growth evergreens and surrounded by high mountains. There is a lakeshore trail and self guided interpretive nature trails. There is a host on site. The nearest phone or groceries are located at Snoqualmie Pass. Popular activities include fishing, boating, hiking, swimming, birdwatching and water skiing on Lake Kachess. There are no hook ups or showers. Second vehicle is not allowed if the primary vehicle fills the parking space.
