Description
In the gentle slopes of South Central Kentucky, the Wax Campground on Nolin Lake has great appeal to the naturalist or those who just want to get away from it all. The campground has gentle slopes with mixed evergreen and hardwoods and thick underbrush. There is a sloping incline access to the shoreline. There is a playground located within the campground and there is a boat ramp and picnic shelter adjacent to the campground. Wax Campground offers 110 campsites, 56 with electric and water hookup. Other amenities include a dump station, flush facilities, showers, accessible boat ramp, picnic shelter, playground, and public marina. Other area attractions include Mammoth Cave National Park, Nolin Lake State Park, Wax Hotel, golf courses and riding stables.

From Louisville, KY: Take I-65 S to exit 76 at Upton, then take Hwy 224 W to Millerstown 9 mi. Turn left on Hwy 479 and go 8 mi to Hwy 88, turn left on Hwy 88 and go 0.5 mi to campground entrance road.
Description
Chief Timothy Park sits on an island on the Snake River, known as the "Gateway to Hells Canyon Recreation Area." The campground has shade trees and lawn. There is a beautiful day use area as well as swimming beach, boat launch, and 5 docks for your boating use. Activities available include boating, hiking, swimming and exceptional fishing. All roads in the park are paved and all sites have picnic tables and fire pits. We feature 4 camping cabins, tent sites and full hook up pull thru sites for R.V's. There are 4 restroom buildings in the park, 3 with hot showers. Chief Timothy is management by Northwest Land Management. We value your comments.
