Nestled in the rolling, wooded countryside of southeast Kansas which is referred to as the "Little Ozarks", Overlook Park offers numerous opportunities for sportsmen, naturalists, hikers, and those seeking water- related recreation and relaxation. Big Hill Lake is rated as one of the top bass fishing lakes in Kansas. Visitors enjoy swimming at one of southeast Kansas' largest sand beaches in nearby Mound Valley Park, as well as attending the Saturday evening programs presented at the amphitheater in Mound Valley Park during the summer. Three group picnic shelters are available for reservation at Overlook Park.

Exit off US 169 at Cherryvale, KS and go east on Main St. Turn south at the end of Main St. onto Olive St., go ?? block (there is a sign), turn east onto CR 5000, follow paved road 4.5 miles to Big Hill Lake, and follow the signs to the Overlook Park.
Description
Mound Valley is 4 1/2 miles east of Cherryvale, KS, and 12 miles west of Parsons, KS. The project lands are mainly oak-hickory forests with some rolling hills adjacent to private lands and farmlands. Some activities at this campground include bass fishing, horseback riding, hiking, and swimming.
