Take Interstate 15 north from Butte about 13 miles to the Elk Park exit. Turn left off the ramp and go under overpass to Forest Service road #442 and continue driving for 6 miles. The Sheepshead Recreation Area is on your right. The Sheepshead Recreation Area is the second entrance on your right.
FREEDOM POINT PICNIC AREA (MT)
Description
Freedom Point is part of the Sheepshead Mountain Recreation Area which is open for picnics, games, hiking, fishing and enjoying nature. Groups can reserve the pavilion for special events. There is a watchable wildlife nature trail that provides access to Maney Lake, a small lake open to fishing. No boats are allowed on the lake.
