The rustic West Boulder Cabin is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Big Timber, Montana, on the West Boulder River. This 3-room cabin has electric power, electric stove, refrigerator, and a wood heating stove. The cabin is supplied with 5 single beds with mattresses, basic cooking and eating supplies, some cleaning gear, axe, bucket, and shovel. There is an outdoor vault toilet. Bring drinking water or treat water out of the river from mid-September through mid-May. Winter access by snowmobile, cross-country skis, or snowshoe up to 1 mile on county road. Livestock must be kept at the adjacent trailhead parking area. Supplemental livestock feed must be certified noxious weed seed free. Altitude of the cabin is 5,538 feet. Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance. Maximum length of stay is 7 nights. Cabin rent is $35 per night.

This cabin is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Big Timber, Montana, on the West Boulder River. From Big Timber, travel 16 miles south on Highway 298 to McLeod. Just past the turn off to McLeod, turn right (west) onto the West Boulder Road for approximately 7.5 miles; and then turn left (south) for another 7 miles to the cabin. The cabin is on the West Boulder River between the West Boulder Campground and Trailhead parking area.

The rustic Deer Creek Cabin, located approximately 30 miles south of Big Timber, Montana, can be accessed by two different routss using foot, horseback, bike, or all terrain vehicle the last 4 to 5 miles. Both routes ford creeks many times, with creek depths varying from 6 inches to several feet. Access by all terrain vehicles should not be attempted during high water levels in spring and early summer. This 1-room cabin has a wood cooking stove and a wood heating stove. The cabin is supplied with 1 double bed with mattress and 1 bunkbed with mattresses, basic cooking and eating supplies, some cleaning gear, wood for the heating stoveand cooking stove (bring 16.4 ounce propane cylinder), propane-fueled lantern and cooking stove, axe, bucket, and shovel. There is an outdoor pit toilet. Bring drinking water or treat water out of the creek. Winter access by snowmobile, cross-country skis, or snowshoe. Livestock may be kept at the corral and partially fenced pasture. Supplemental livestock feed must be certified noxious weed seed free. Altitude of the cabin is 5,235 feet. Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance. Maximum length of stay is 16 nights. Cabin rent is $25 per night.

Access by all terrain vehicles should not be attempted during high water levels in spring and early summer. Lower Deer Creek access by foot, horse, bike or all terrain vehicle: From Exit 370 on Interstate 90 just east of Big Timber, take the frontage road (south side of the interstate) 8 miles east. Turn right (south) onto Lower Deer Creek Road (Forest Service Road #482) and proceed 16.2 miles to the Placer Gulch Trailhead sign located on the left side of the road. Park at the Trailhead and travel Placer Gulch Trail #256 by foot, horse, bike, or all terrain vehicle a distance of 3.7 miles to the intersection with Lower Deer Creek Trail #5. Turn right (south) on Trail #5 for 1.5 miles to the Deer Creek Cabin. Note: both trails have several of creek crossings and Trail #256 has a number of switch backs. West Bridger Creek access by foot or horse: From Big Timber, travel 14 miles east on Interstate Highway 90 to Exit 384, Bridger Creek Exit. At the stop sign, turn right and travel south for 8.2 miles to the junction of Main Bridger with West Bridger Creek Road. Turn right and continue on West Bridger Road for 4.0 miles to the parking area. Park near the sign that reads, ????????????????????????????????West Bridger Tr. #129, Lower Deer Cr????????????????????????????????. From this point, the cabin is 4 miles by foot or horse. Follow trail #129 up Jim????????????????????????????????s Gulch for approximately 1 mile where the trail turns sharply to the right (north) and climbs up to the ridge. Follow the trail to the divide where it descends steeply to Lower Deer Creek. At this point the trail junctions with Lower Deer Creek Trail #5. Turn left (south) on Trail #5 and follow the trail upstream for approximately 1???????????????????????????????? miles to the cabin.
