Description
The Swan Lake Recreation Area is located near the Village of Swan Lake at the north end of the scenic Swan Valley in Northwest Montana. Offering a central location to explore Glacier Country, including great hiking opportunities in the Swan Mountains, and boating and fishing on adjacent Swan Lake and nearby Flathead Lake, the Swan Lake Recreation Area is a very popular place to visit within an hour's drive of Glacier National Park. In addition the Swan River National Wildlife Refuge, with its wildlife and bird observation area is located within one mile of the campground. The Swan Lake Recreation Area features the Swan Lake Campground with its 36 family-sized campsites and large group site and the Swan Lake Day Use area with its boat launch and beach, which are available for campground users. The Swan Lake Campground is also a great place for bicyclists to stop and spend the night. The campground features bike lanes and a first-come first-serve fully featured campsite for bicyclists. The group site as well as 11 individual campsites are available for reservation with the remaining sites available on a first come first serve basis. Guests with reservations must arrive and check in with the campground host by 2:00 pm or risk forfeiture of fees paid and the site may be given to another camper. Group Site Reservations: The Group Site may be reserved for overnight or day use by clicking BOOK NOW below. You will simply pay $25.00 per night or $75.00 for day use when you make your reservation and then pay the additional camper unit fees or day use fees to the host upon your arrival at the campground. . A minimum of five camper units, defined as a motor home, trailer, pick-up camper, or family tent, is required for use of the group site. This generally means groups no smaller than ten people and no larger than 100 people. Overnight users will pay the $25.00 per night fee when making their reservation and each camper unit must pay an additional $15.00 per night upon arrival. Paying the camper unit fee upon arrival means you don't have to know how may people are going to come along when making your reservation. Day users will pay $75.00 when making their reservation and then $3.00 per vehicle to the host upon arrival. The $25.00 overnight and $75 day use group site fees are non-refundable. Groups who do not arrive by the 2:00 pm check in time risk forfeiture of the fees and the site may be given to another group. Individual Site Reservations: Individual camp sites in the Swan Lake Campground are available for reservation. Sites are available for reservation at $15.00 per night with the $10.00 reservation fee. Guests must arrive and check in with the campground host by 2:00 pm or risk forfeiture of fees and the site may be given to another individual.
