This group picnic site is located approximately 13 miles from Afton, WY on the Greys River in the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
The site adjacent to a small mountain lake which forms the west edge of the developed area. It is located 6 miles into the National forest at the end of a narrow, graveled road.
The maximum capacity for the site is 50 people. Eight to ten vehicles can be parked at the site, although non-reservable day-use may be in the same parking area.
Hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking opportunities are numerous on several trails in the area. Off-highway vehicles also have two trails available for travel in the vicinity. Other areas of interest include Salt pass.
Directions
From Afton, WY, take HWY 89 south approximately 7 miles to Smoot, WY. Approximately one-half mile beyond Smoot, a brown highway recreation sign will identify the turn-off for Cottonwood Lake Campground. The Forest boundary is reached about 1 mile up the access road, and the campground is 6 miles beyond that. Continue past the first (west) loop of the campground, then right at the Y intersection towards lake. The group picnic area is on the left side of the road as you enter the day-use area.

The maximum capacity for the site is 50 people. Eight to ten vehicles can be parked at the site.

From Afton, WY, take HWY 89 south approximately 21 miles over Salt Pass and partly back down through Salt Creek Canyon. A brown highway recreation sign will identify the turn-off for Allred Flats Campground. The group picnic area is on the left side of the road as you enter the developed area, just before the entry kiosk.
